Smile Leadership Ltd are currently seeking a dynamic and nurturing Head of Centre (SEMH) for one of our settings based in Leiston, Suffolk (IP16). The setting is part of a passionate, well-respected family of schools throughout the country. We are handling their vacancies on an exclusive basis, and currently all posts are offered on a permanent contract. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis to start as soon as possible. If you are an experienced Head of School or Head of Centre seeking a new challenge or someone who has held a similar post within a SEND setting and are either local to or available to travel to the Leiston, Suffolk area we would like to hear from you.
Our client is a large group of independent specialist school sites who pride themselves on providing high-quality, therapeutic and child-centred education to pupils from 10 to 19 years of age. This particular setting is a small school for girls with around 12 pupils in total. This post would include a 50% teaching timetable and you will have ample support from a regional executive headteacher.
Their children come from a wide range of backgrounds but predominantly have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and many will also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Many will have suffered significant trauma and adverse childhood experiences and may have social care involvement. If successful in your application, you will become part of a strong, supportive network, both locally and nationally, which is committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key information:
• Starting salary up to £43k, reviewed annually with the potential to increase depending on addition responsibilities

• The flexibility to manage your own weekly timetable in terms of working hours
To be successful in your application, you should have the following:
• Hold a relevant UK teaching qualification
• Experience within the SEN sector, ideally within an SEMH setting
• Experience as a senior leader within an education setting
