Smile Leadership Ltd are currently seeking an experienced School Business Manager for a Birmingham, West Midlands based Secondary school. This is a full-time, permanent position with a start date of September 2022 or sooner for the right candidate. The School Business Manager post is a full-time, permanent position with a start date of September 2022 or sooner. This is an all year-round role, NOT a term time only role and you will receive 27 days annual leave. You will be expected to provide full support to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure effective practices in management and administration across the school. Other responsibilities may include, but won’t be limited to the following:
• Provide strategic leadership and development of the business and resources functions of the school and its estate in line with overall Trust policies and procedures
• Provide operational management of all aspects of business services, including HR, facilities and estates, school administration, catering, IT, governance and regulatory and health and safety
• Lead on designated aspects of finance and admissions and attendance, working in collaboration with school and Trust leads
• Ensure excellent relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure that an effective service is provided to each of these stakeholders
• Support the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that their responsibilities to the school are effectively undertaken through delegation to the admin team
• Attend management team meetings and appropriate governor meetings
• Work closely with the designated Finance Business Partner and Principal to ensure the effective delivery of financial processes within school
• Act as the school’s Lead Person for Health and Safety and as Fire Officer ensuring fire wardens are appointed and trained
• Support the operation of Management Information Systems to ensure their effective and efficient use across the school
• Manage the whole school administrative function and administrative staff
• Promote the Trust’s vision of ‘nurturing today’s young people, inspiring tomorrow’s leaders
To be successful in your application, you should have one or more of the following:
• Experience as a School Business Manager is essential
• 5 A*- Cs at GCSE including English and Maths is essential
• A qualification in Business Management, HR or Accountancy would be desirable, but not essential
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people
Start Date: Negotiable
Salary: £40,578 - £45,648 per annum
